Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee said yesterday that he is leaning slightly against running for president in 2012 but says it’s far too early to say what he will do.
The crowds included stray disaffected Obama voters, as well as hard-core conspiracy theorists insisting that the president is a Communist who wants to send everyone to re-education camps.
As the Republican Governors Association gathers in Austin this week, there is a real sense among conservatives that the Obama Bubble is about to burst. And all eyes are on the assembled governors to see who might do the bursting in 2012.
Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour‘s (R) repeated refusal to say that Sarah Palin is “qualified” to be president of the United States during an interview Thursday night with “Hardball” host Chris Matthews is illustrative of the problems the former Alaskan governor can — and likely will — cause the party.
